Shared Hosting control panel migration to HestiaCP
Summary
WAYSCloud will migrate its Shared Hosting platform to a new control panel based on HestiaCP. This is part of our ongoing move toward open-source technologies across the platform, with no downtime expected for customer websites.
What is changing
The existing Shared Hosting control panel will be replaced with a HestiaCP-based environment. Shared Hosting will become more closely integrated with the WAYSCloud dashboard at my.wayscloud.services. The platform will move further toward open-source components across the stack.
Why this change
WAYSCloud uses open-source technologies across multiple layers of the platform. Moving Shared Hosting to HestiaCP improves consistency with that strategy. Commercial control panels such as WHM/cPanel have seen significant license cost increases in recent years. Reducing dependency on those licensing models helps avoid unnecessary customer-facing price growth.
Improvements
Closer integration with the WAYSCloud dashboard at my.wayscloud.services. Improved usability and a more consistent management experience. Reduced dependence on commercial licensing models. Better alignment with the platform broader open-source strategy.
Customer impact
For most customers, no action is required. If external DNS is used and a new IP address is assigned, advance notice will be provided. Migration is planned during the night to minimize operational impact.
